Moy Estuary Development Strategy

"A Shared Vision"

This project aim was to carry out a full assessment of the commercial, touristic, community and social benefits and uses of the Moy Estuary and how the local community and commercial sector in Ballina, Enniscrone & Killala could lead and drive any suitable projects or developments identified. The ultimate aim is to ensure that the natural resource that is the Moy Estuary is developed in a sustainable way to ensure it retains and returns value to the local community from a commercial, social and environmental perspective.  Furthermore the identification of any projects or development would need to be in accordance with sustainable development principles.  

No matter what the ideas were, we wanted you to get involved and have your say. We are grateful for the interest and input from all stakeholders within the region.

The study has now been completed and a development strategy has been drawn up and is available below for you to view.
